How to Reach Badrinath

By Air

Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Badrinath, about 317 km from Badrinath.

By Helicopter-Now pilgrims can enjoy the Helicopter services from Dehradun to Badrinath. The helicopter journey is hardly around 100 km.

By Train

The nearest railway stations to Badrinath are at Rishikesh (297km), Haridwar (324 km) and Kotdwar (327km). Rishikesh railway station is not much connected by fast trains. Haridwar railway station is much developed and well connected with New Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, Lucknow and Ahmedabad.

By Bus

Badrinath is well connected with major destinations of Uttarakhand by motorable roads. Regular buses operate to Badrinath from Rishikesh, Haridwar and Delhi. Taxis and buses are available from main destinations of Uttarakhand like Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Rishikesh, Ukimath, Karnaprayag, Chamoli etc.

Note – The road is narrow after Joshimath. So, after dawn travel is not allowed. One can spend the night in Chamoli, Rudraprayag or Joshimath and can next day early in the morning travel to Badrinath.
